Terra Linda High School Team
“The Terra Linda High School Mountain Bike Club is in it’s 3rd season in 2009. Races begin in March and finish in May. Our club is part of the NorCal High School MTB Racing League that was founded to promote the sport of Cross Country MTB racing. The league now has approximately 500 racers throughout Northern California. At Terra Linda, our focus, as a developmental team, is to have our riders appreciate the beautiful trails of Marin, and at the same time, develop the skills for riding varied terrain and racing on a course with competitors. The students learn about success through hard work and personal best efforts, and finishing high in the rankings is only a secondary goal.
Summit Marin has been an essential part of the team’s development with sponsorship of equipment and services. In addition to normal bike services, the staff at Summit Marin has racing experience and expertise to advise our riders on racing tips and strategy. We rely on the loyal staff of Summit Marin to keep our wheels spinning.” –Miles Raphael, Team Coach

San Marin/Novato High School Team
“Our mission is to promote the enjoyment of bicycle riding for students in a safe and healthy atmosphere and offer the opportunity to train for and compete in the Mountain Bike races held in the spring by the NorCal High School Mountain Bike Racing League. More info on the league is available at: www.norcalmtb.org. These races are the main focus of our season, which runs from December through May.
We ride three to four days a week and gradually build our strength to peak at the season ending's State Championship race held at Bogg's Mountain in Lake County. The racing league consists of about 35 other high school teams and will have as many as 500 racers.
Our club offers the chance to start at a beginning level and develop the biking skills and strength to become racers. The Norcal League helps train, certify and insure the riders, coaches, ride leaders and parent volunteers to ensure safety and professionalism. This team is open to new riders, sponsors and parental support. The two teams practice and work together under one coaching team and compete separately against each other as individuals and school teams. Our team website is www.mtbzones.com.”
- Adam Nuyens (Head Coach).

Team Hamana
"Team Hamana is a competitive mountain bike race team, that believes racing (and riding) should be fun. Too often, cycling teams get so serious, it takes the fun out of the sport. Team Hamana is not to be underestimated, we have been on the top of the podium many times, including State Downhill Champion, 24 Hours of Adrenalin, Downieville and Sea Otter. We believe in group rides and social events. Our group rides occur several times a week, 52 weeks a year. We have riders ranging from 24 to 74, men and women. Downhill & cross country, even a little road cycling. Our current membership includes about 40 participants, many of which, volunteer for trail maintenance work. Our primary sponsor is Marin Brewing Company. Beer is good. Hamana!" -Ron Bolds
